You can download latest Wordpress version from wordpress.org. If you don't know what Wordpress is or have some difficulties with Wordpress installation, you can try to contact your service provider support.

After you've installed WordPress and when everything is working fine as it should you need to go over some settings, just to make sure your wordpress is working without any problems.

Should you have any questions that are beyond the scope of this help file, please you can submit a support ticket. (guest ticket available)

When creating a support ticket, try to explain as clearly as you can the issue you are having and what you were trying to do when the problem occurred.

1. WordPress direct install - This is probably the simplest way for most users. Here are the steps you need to take:

Login to WordPress admin

Go to admin panel > Appearance > Themes > Add New > Search Themes

Write Kar Dealer and click enter.

Click over the Install button over Kar Dealer Image

After that, click over Activate.

Just that. your theme is installed.

2. Install a Theme by using Upload Method from WordPress Admin

Start by downloading the .zip file of the theme.

Next login to your WordPress admin area and click on Appearance » Themes.

You will be prompted to choose the zip file that you downloaded earlier. Select the file and click Install Now.

Once your theme is installed, you will see a success message along with the link to activate and preview the theme.

3. FTP upload - If you wish to install via FTP, here are the steps you need to take:

After download from wordpress site, unzip the file kardealer.1.xx.zip

Using FTP client, for example filezilla, (filezilla) login to the server where your WordPress website is hosted

Using FTP client, navigate to the /wp-content/themes/ directory under your WordPress website's root directory

Using FTP client, upload the kardealer directory to themes directory on remote server

 4. Activate the theme - Go to Appearence, Themes and activate your theme.

Now the kar dealer theme is ready to use.

Re-Install

If something goes wrong during an update, don't panic. You can always do the following without losing any data and settings:

• Deactivate and delete currently installed kar Dealer Theme

• Install the latest version again

After activate the theme, show up  a warning asking you to install the recommended plugins (included Car Dealer Plugin). Installing these is very easy - you just need to click 'Begin installing plugins' and you will be redirected to the plugin installation page where you can install them. After install, you can activate them at the same place.

You can also use this theme with our plugin Multi Dealer Plugin instead of Car Dealer Plugin.

Please, read Install all Required Plugins section before this one.

You need this free plugins installed and activated:

• Car Dealer Plugin

Installing the free version of the “Car Dealer plugin” can be done:

1) By searching for “Car Dealer” via the “Plugins > Add New” screen in your WordPress dashboard;
or
2) Download the plugin via WordPress.org and Upload the ZIP file through the ‘Plugins > Add New > Upload’ screen in your WordPress dashboard. Then, activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
or
3) By FTP, extract the zip file and just drop the contents in the wp-content/plugins/ directory of your WordPress installation.

Then activate the Plugin from Plugins page.

This Theme includes the Demo Data which allows you to upload the demo content to your site to help you get started with the Theme.  This step is optional. 

Note: We do not recommend this if you have existing content in your WordPress installation, as it will add numerous posts, pages, media and more to your site.

When you import the demo content and click the import button more than once, you will get duplicated content. To get rid of the duplicated content you can install the WP Reset Plugin. Be careful as this plugin will reset the complete database with all your pages, posts, menus, widgets, theme options & settings.

Don't forget to install and activate all plugins before run the demo import.

After the Installation and activation of the theme, go to Appearance > Demo Import, click over Import Demo Data.

Be aware that downloading Demo Content may take a while, depending on the speed of your server!

After finish to install demo data, we suggest to you desactivate the plugin One Click Demo Import.

If you wish to remove the demo content after installing it, you could use a solution such as the WordPress Reset plugin. Note: Using this plugin will delete ALL content within your WordPress installation. So use this plugin at your own risk.

If you are unable to use our demo import, please, read below in Troubleshooting, the section How to import the demo manually.

Once you have created your home page, you need to select it to show up as the home page. To do this, follow the steps below.

After create the some pages, you can create the menu.

Go to Dashboard  Appearence => Customize  => Customize  => Lay Out and select at Menus Enabled section.

After that, go  to Dashboard  Appearence => Customize  => Menus and setup the menu.

You can also setup the social menu (top right corner in our demo). (mark as Social Links Menu)

WordPress Widgets add content and features to your Sidebar and Footer. 

We have this widget areas available:

1. Sidebar
2. First Footer (left)
3. Second Footer (center)
4. Third Footer (Right)

• Just go to Appearence, Widgets.
• Choose a Widget and drag it to the place where you wish it to appear. 
• Once you dropped the widget to widget areas, WordPress automatically updates the Theme and it will appear in its area.

To setup Search Cars widget:

Drag and Drop Search Cars Widget to Primary Widget Area (Sidebar).

Fill Out the Title (Search Cars) and click SAVE.

To Setup Recent Cars:

Drag and Drop Recent Cars Widget to Primary Widget Area (Sidebar).

Fill Out the Number of Cars to show and click SAVE.

To Setup Featured Cars:

Drag and Drop Featured Cars Widget to Primary Widget Area (Sidebar).

Fill Out the Number of Cars to show and click SAVE.

Here is the WordPress Widget Guide

To load your logo (240px  X  200px):

1. Go to to Appearence
2. Customize
3. Site Identity
4. Choose Logo Image
5. Upload (from your computer)
6. Save

To setup your Show Room page:

1. Go to Dashboard
2. Pages
3. All Pages
4. Choose (or create) the Show Room Page
5. Paste this shortcode:    [car_dealer]
6. Save

Kar Dealer Theme has an advanced panel that is loaded with options.

Go to Appearance > Customize and take a look. We've organized them into logical sets and have given  descriptions for items that need it, most things are self explanatory. Be sure to hit Save Changes to save your settings once you are done.

Dashboard -> Cars For Sale -> Settings

Configure Header style, Border, Header Image Background, Text and Colors.

To use style 1 in your Front Page, you need setup the page template as "No-Sidebar".

Dashboard => Pages => All Pages => Choose Your Home Page ...

Then, edit your page and mark the template as No-Sidebar

Remember to save.

Go to Appearence => Customize => Background Image

Choose a background image.

Then, click SAVE & PUBLISH.

Appearence => Customize => Colors

You can chose:

• Base Color Scheme (Black, white and 3 more colors ...)
• Customize Link, Main Text Color and Secondary Text Color.
• Customize menu text color
  
  

If you don't want use the base scheme colors, you can use infinite colors at: Background Color and Page Background color controls.

Click SAVE

Go to Appearence=>Customize=>Theme Options=>Main Navigation Design

and you can choose colors, font size, margin and so on.

When the setup is completed, click SAVE & PUBLISH.

Customize => Theme Options => Top Header Settings

You can manage here the top header info:

• email
• phone
• Hours

Dashboard => Cars For Sale => Settings

Go to Car Settings tab and choose your currency, metric system etc...

At your dashboard, click Cars For Sale to:

• View all your cars
• Add a New One
• Edit Cars
• Remove Cars

To manage the Makes, go to your dashboard. 

You can:

 View all models

1. Add a New One
2. Edit Makes
3. Remove Makes

For Example

• Ford
• Audi
• and so on

To manage the locations, at your dashboard, Cars for Sale, click Locations, then, you can:

1. See all Locations
2. Edit Locations
3. Remove Locations
4. Add a New One.

We use the Meta Slider Plugin to create slider.

After install all plugins, you can see the Meta Slider voice at your dashboard.

Creating slideshows with Meta Slider is fast and easy. Simply select images from your WordPress Media Library, drag and drop them into place, set slide captions, links and SEO fields all from one page. You can choose from 4 different slideshow types (Flex Slider, Nivo Slider, Responsive Slides & Coin Slider) and use the provided shortcode or template include to easily embed slideshows in your site.

If you need help to create your slider, check their on line documentation.

We do not provide support for plugins. If you have questions on plugins we recommend directing your questions to the plugin authors.

Comments are enabled on WordPress posts and pages by default. You can change the default for new posts or pages, as well as enable/disable comments on posts or pages you’ve already published.

You can change the defaults for new posts or pages on the Settings -> Discussion screen.

To hide comments on the specific page go to “WP-admin > Pages” and click the “quick edit” link. You will see the “Allow Comments” checkbox (fig. 1):

You can do the same in the Page/Post Adding/Editing interface. Simply check the “Discussion” checkbox in Screen Option – corresponding “Discussion” box will appear (fig. 2):

The Right Sidebar is the main widget area.

Take a look the Widget areas section.

Set your Permalinks to PostName, to get your pagination working at your Shoow Room (Cars Page)

1. Follow this steps:
2. Dashboard Settings
3. Permalinks Settings
4. Choose Post Name
5. Click Save Changes

To create a child theme, follow this steps:

This is optional and for advanced users.

1. Go to theme’s directory (usually wp-content/themes/) , find the folder kardealer,  and open it.

You can do it with any FTP programs, like filezilla.

2.  Move the folder
kardealer-child
to outside the kardealer folder

I mean, to the same folder where you can find all themes.

3. Then, go to your site
Dashboard => Appearance => Themes
and activate the kardealer child theme.

Now, you should see Active: kardealer Child

Remember to do one back up of the theme and child theme folders before begin to make modifications.

Please, remember: Our support finish after you install the child theme and it is working fine without modifications. We can’t give support to theme customizations.

Now, you can make changes at your new style.css (at kardealer-child folder)

We suggest to use Free ShortCodes Ultimate Plugin to give you shortcodes in our free theme.

With this plugin you can easily create tabs, buttons, boxes, different sliders, responsive videos and much, much more. Using Shortcodes Ultimate you can quickly and easily retrieve premium themes features and display it on your site.

However, we can’t provide customisation services, there are a bunch of companies out there that can assist you with that for a fee, you can find them by searching Envato for “wordpress customisation service”.

We can't provide support for plugins (except car dealer plugin). You need request support to the plugin's developer.

1) If you find design or another issue, try to follow this steps:

a) Install our free Kar Dealer Theme from WordPress repository.

b) Activate only the plugins required by the theme.

c) Fill out all settings fields and take a look in your site.

If works fine, begin to activate your anothers plugins, one each time. 

After install one plugin, look the site.

If stops of works, means that plugin is not compatible with our plugin and you can't use it.

Do the same with your new theme if you don't use our free theme.

2) Issue with Price Slider:

You need include at least one property to slider works. Your property need have the price field fill out.

You can't have javascript errors in your page. Javascript error can be created by anothers defective plugins or theme or incompatibilities with our plugin.

You can see the javascript errors in your console log screen. If you don't know about that, run a search over google "How see the javascript errors in my page"

3) If that doesn't solve your issue, go to our support page and fill out one ticket.
